		<description>If you can get someone to &#039;fall in love&#039; with their online representation then you can charge them money to embellish that identity.

If you can create a community where people care how they look to each other, then you can sell them gifts that they can pick out for their friends.

If you offer people more control and validation than they enjoy in their real lives then they will identify more with their online self, and invest time and resources in that self.

The problem is not how to monetize social media, it&#039;s how mankind will resist it&#039;s seductions as the medium matures.</description>
